The Ballisong Minnow Long was built to target middle to deep fish that swim beneath most jerkbaits. It excels when fishing the same situations as deep diving cranbaits when fish are lethargic and won’t chase a crankbait.
It is a cranking minnow that can be fished like other jerkbaits or you can utilize a fast cranking retrieve to deflect off of rocks along the bottom.
The lure stays stable even when deflecting off of cover and will not leave the strike zone. If you want to minimize your sound, a slow retrieve will give it a tight action as you are retrieving it.
The slow floating Ballisong Minnow Long Bill will reach depths 2.5 to 3.0m (8-10ft) by just winding. In cold water, it will suspend due to the sinking of the line at 3.0 to 3.8m (10-12ft) with added jerks.
Internal Structure / Moving Weight
This lure has exceptional casting distance thanks to a moving 6.5mm tungsten weight that shifts during the cast. This helps with casting distance but also helps to give it a unique, tight action during the retrieve.
Spring weight system
The bait has an internal spring weight system that creates a knocking sound as it hits the inner wall .
Long Bent Bill
The vented lip shape helps give the bait its action and was designed to deflect perfectly off of rocks or other cover.
■ Size # 4 Hooks
The V-shaped belly allows the trebles to fit snugly and prevents them from fluttering during the retrieve.
True tune method
We ship after carefully checking each lure, but we recommend a true tune to maximize the performance of the lure. When bait is swimming to the left, move the eye to the right, and when swimming to the right, move the eye to the left using pliers and make adjustments while observing the condition.
