DC400 CASCABEL CRANK BAIT

The DC-400 Cascabel was developed to catch big bass. It is a heavy-duty deep diver with big hooks that withstand hard casts and big bass. Its wide wobbling action does not quit, even with slow retrieves and heavy line. It also has a high buoyancy that keeps it free of grass and other obstacles. The bait is an excellent casting bait because of the weight transfer system with a resin tungsten weight, and the lip was made specifically for a better feel of the bottom. It can even be fished around grass and has enough buoyancy to rise and come free, which is where many bites will occur when it is freed from vegetation or other cover. Even when bass don’t want to commit to finesse options and Texas rigs, The DC-400 has amazing power to get bites. Its threatening sound calls fish from a long way away, and the baitfish imitator is perfect for heavy-duty cranking.

SWIMMING ACTION

With a stable and wide wobbling and rolling action, the bait can reach depths of over 4m or 13-feet deep on 16 pound line, 3.8m or 12-feet on 20 pound line, and 3.5m or 11-feet on 25-pound line. The squared body maximizes the sound of the bait and adds to its buoyancy. The shape of the belly prevents the front hook from moving too much, which lets the bait swim better, even with heavy fluorocarbon lines on long casts.

HOOK SETTING

The oversized hooks are unique for most modern Japanese crankbaits and were designed to catch monster bass. They were added with this aggressive bait in mind, so the V-shaped belly helps to suppress the movement of the front hook, which helps to give the lure the sharp action that makes it so effective.

POINTED NOSE LIP

The lip at the nose of the bait is gently pointed to give you feedback on what the bait is doing and what it is hitting. This bottom-sensing ability is a significant advantage, especially when fishing around grass. By adjusting your rod angle and reel speed, you can work the bait just above the grass and tick it occasionally, which gets bites. In addition to obstacle avoidance, it has a high buoyancy to reduce hangups on riprap, rock, and grass.

WEIGHT SETTING

The wide chamber has a large rattle built into it, which gives it a loud sound and helps the bait’s buoyancy. This balances stable and aggressive action, and the weight transfer system helps for casting, even with such a light bait.

If the bait is placed in direct sunlight, in a car, tackle box while fishing, or in other high-temperature locations, the air inside the bait may expand due to the temperature difference. This can cause deformation, cracks, and other damage.
