BIG BAIT

Designed to look like a fleeing baitfish

Picture a baitfish being chased by a monster bass. This was the scene at Ikehara Dam in Japan, which inspired this bait.

The HIGHSIDER is a cranking big bait with a new look. It’s as realistic as possible down to the profile, tail movements, and sound. It already has many impressive catches on video and has an extraordinary track record for catching giant bass.

The angle of the joints, weighting and balance, and body shape are similar to and different from those of the first-generation HIGHSIDER. That bait was sold from 2007 to 2017 with a foam resin body and an ABS resin hollow body. It also has a long and thin elastomer tail. These all help it look like a baitfish, and the new version keeps these features with some improvements. You can also remove the lip of the bait and fish it along the surface or just below.

4 PIECE BODY

new-highsider220-172

The way it swims is very natural because of the multi-piece body that looks just like a baitfish being attacked. The tail has fan-spaced ridges with an elastomer tail, which gives it great movement. This continues through the middle body section and undulates like a real baitfish. The movement gets bites as it looks just like a baitfish trying to escape.

Also, by adjusting the joint angle of the first joint, you can adjust the action.

*The joint is fixed with a screw. Please make sure that there is no looseness during use. We recommend adding a thread-locking agent if you plan to secure it permanently.

Spare parts for the joint shaft will be sold at the “Factory Store” and will soon be available for the 220mm.

HIGH FLOAT

The “High Float Model” has a higher buoyancy, which reduces the chance of getting stuck even if it comes into contact with obstacles such as weeds or rocks because it will rise quickly. Reeling with a fast and steady retrieve will also increase the chances of getting bites from bass hiding in cover as the bait deflects off it.

POLYCARBONATE WIDE LIP

new-highsider-deps-POLYCARBONATE WIDE LIP

The polycarbonate lip has excellent impact resistance. It grips water, creates sharp action and improves obstacle avoidance through floating objects and standing trees. It also gets the bait down to approximately 1.5m or nearly 5 feet.

The lip can be removed with one touch by flipping the lever.
The lipless design has a flexible movement that twists the body with plenty of vibration, just like a baitfish being chased near the surface. This action appeals to big bass looking for an easy meal on the surface.

If the lip becomes damaged or missing, it can easily be replaced as spare lips are sold at authorized Deps dealers.

TAIL

deps-highsider-tail

The ultra-thin elastomer tail adds more action in the water, but by limiting its motion, it undulates the body section, making it look more natural.

Please use the tail case package when transporting or storing the lure to prevent the tail from bending even after opening.

*Please do not store it with other hard or soft lures without a tail case, as this may cause deformation, discoloration, or melting.

If it is damaged or missing, it can be easily replaced.

1. Installation
Insert into the buried hole in the body, firmly hold the base of the tail, pull up while pushing the buried part, and push it firmly all the way in.

*Wetting the tail with water will make it easier to install.

Installation is completed by moving the tail up and down and left and right until the fitting grooves of the body and tail are aligned.

The buried part of the 220 tail is offset downward, and the round shape is on the top. The tail of 172 has no up or down orientation.

2. Removal
Pull the base of the tail downward to remove it without damaging it.

*It fits tightly to prevent it from falling out. Please note that if you forcefully attach or remove the product, it may be damaged.

Spare tails are sold at authorized DEPS retailers

172 (2 hooks): #1/0 SPLIT RING: #4

*For eye repair, please use crystal eyes in 8.0mm for the 220 size and 6.7mm for the 172. We do not sell eyes with unique features not found in crystal eyes, so please use other colors.

High-temperature caution

Take caution to where you store your baits as they can become deformed or cracked due to the expansion of the air during high temperatures. Keep them out of direct sunlight and in hot places like the inside of vehicles or tackle boxes stored during the warmer months, as we are not responsible for damages caused by storing lures in high temperatures.
